If you are reading this page and have seen something you like while perusing my blog, maybe you would like me to do some work with you/your organization. Below are a few things I have done recently to give you an idea on my areas of interest/skill sets.
I would love to hear from you on how I can contribute positively to your community.
Standardized Writing Assessment
I worked throughout the 2020-21 school year with the curriculum office at the American School of Bombay to begin the process of creating a K-12 Cross-disciplinary Standardized Writing Assessment that is valid, reliable, and equitable.
The Workshop Model in a High School Classroom
I worked closely with Stevi Quate (a workshop model guru) to facilitate a two day workshop on how the reader’s and writer’s workshop model can be leveraged in a high school classroom.
NCTE 2019 (Baltimore)
I co-presented at the NCTE conference with my Moving Writers team on the topic of: How the Readers/Writers Workshop Model nurtures metacognition in a high school class context (AP & IB curriculum included).
International Literacy Coaching Cohort (2018–2019)
I was part of a group of 25 educators who met 5 times over 1.5 years in multiple locations (Thailand, India, Bahrain, & Oman). Outcomes involved learning to support schools with literacy and assessment practices, develop facilitation skills, and analysis of curricular components for a balanced program.
Adaptive Schools Training (2019)
This training program “presents a productive, practical set of ideas and tools for developing collaborative groups in becoming effective and better equipped to resolve complex issues around student learning.”
